Wind River announces BSD/OS Internet Server Edition 4.3.1
By Jeremy C. Reed On Saturday, Wind River announced BSD/OS Internet Server Edition (ISE) 4.3.1. It replaces the BSD/OS ISE 4.3 release which began shipping last January. This release includes the M430 mods (BSD/OS binary updates). The new hardware support includes:
The Wind River announcement says that this new release does not contain support for the 4Front Technologies OSS sound drivers. But an upgrade from 4.3 to 4.3.1 does not remove this support. BSD/OS ISE 4.3.1 includes security updates for libc (integer overflow in XDR library and buffer overflows in DNS resolver), named (multiple vulnerabilities in BIND), popper, uparams, uuname, and uucp. It also has updated Apache 1.3.26, OpenSSL, and OpenSSH 3.1p1. More information about BSD/OS can be found at http://www.windriver.com/products/bsd_os/.
