Wind River's BSD/OS 5.0 Internet Server Edition officially released
Wind River announced this week that their BSD/OS 5.0 Internet Server Edition (ISE) is released. Their announcement says that the kernel code has been reorganized and improved to better support architectures with flexible configurations of different system controllers and other devices. Other new features include a pre-emptible kernel, threads for interrupt handling, and allows multiple threads to run in the kernel at the same time on multiple processors. BSD/OS provides true symmetric multiprocessing, IPv6, IPsec, ROM file system support, and its own IPFW implementation. Source code is available for customers.
